VYPE recently interviewed Salina Central’s Dev Gibson to learn about his athletic career.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for this year are to improve my stats from last year and to find a good college that ill enjoy going to. I want to have a fun and enjoyable senior year, and spend it winning games and having fun with my friends.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I have had in the last year was playing basketball and football with my friends.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher would have to be my junior english teacher Ms Paradis, she is super funny and always has great energy during class, she always made school and class less boring and more enjoyable.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory would have to be beating south in football last year the first game of the season 52-28, and scoring the first touchdown of the season.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
I don’t think one certain teammate has left the biggest impression on me. But I would say the seniors from the past 2 years I would have definitely left a good impression on me through the early years of my high school career. Just seeing how they worked hard in the weight room and their leadership made me want to do the same and even better so that for my senior year I would be the player that all the underclassmen looked up to.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about being on this team is everyone loves and wants to win. Guys are in the gym 24/7 constantly trying to get better for themselves and the team and everyone wants to be the best version. This team is like a family because of the connections we have made and the bonding we have done from being around each other all the time.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would have to pick somewhere nice like Cabo or something like that, and I would definitely bring all my friends with me.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would probably buy some more shoes, I own lots of shoes and whenever I get the chance to spend my money it usually comes down to shoes or clothes.
