Q&A with Salina Sacred Heart’s Cameron Yohe – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Farm Bureau Financial Services

VYPE recently sat down with Sacred Heart’s Cam Yohe to discuss his athletic career.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

Help my team make it to state, work hard and become an all-state baseball player.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Pitching a complete game in the first round of regionals this year. 

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Mr. Hines because you can just stop by his classroom and he will make you laugh or help you with whatever you need help with. 

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Getting my first hit with one hand.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Evan Bogart because he always pushes me to get better even when I don’t want to.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

We always find things to laugh about and always have fun.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

Bora bora. I would take my best friend and my girlfriend. 

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

Donate it to Nubability. It’s a nonprofit organization that helps limb different kids compete in regular sports and activities. 

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

Yes, I’ve volunteered at the food bank, volunteered at a homeless shelter, and helped clean up yards for the elderly. 

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

Junior Civitan, Relay for Life, and SAFE. 

VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?

I am involved in the National Honors Society, and I’ve made honor role all 3 years of high school.
