SE of Saline’s Wyatt Boyd – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Commercial Tire

Wyatt Boyd of SE-Saline has been spending time during the offseason prepping for his final
season of high school football. Instead of participating in other activities, Boyd has decided to
focus his attention on football for his senior year of high school. Boyd has been using his time to
prepare for this coming football season by attending camps, completing workouts, and training
throughout the offseason. One specific part of his training Boyd told VYPE he spent a lot of time
working on was his route work.
Boyd spends lots of time on the field because he is utilized not only for offense and defense but
also for special teams. For defense, Boyd plays cornerback, and on offense he is a wide
receiver. Boyd’s time on special teams as a kicker earned him All League 2nd team honors last
season as a junior.
Now as a senior, Boyd will help be a leader for the Trojans this season. An individual goal set by
Boyd is “to play to the best of my ability and make the team the best it can be.” With Boyd
helping make the team the best it can be, he has also set a team goal for the Trojans to make
state. Before the team enters postseason play, Boyd and his teammates will have to face teams
like Beloit and Ellsworth during the regular season. These are two games Boyd is most looking
forward to.
After high school graduation this year, Boyd has plans to attend Salina Tech to become a
firefighter.
