Q&A with Ell Saline’s Bayleigh Schneider – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Salina Regional Sports Medicine

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for the year are to have a successful basketball and rodeo season while enjoying my last year in high school

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
This past year I had the opportunity to travel, I got to visit Edisto Beach, in South Carolina for vacation and then went to Gillette Wyoming to compete at the High School Rodeo finals and then I went to Oklahoma to compete at the American Quarter Horse Youth World Show. I also got to meet many new friends through rodeo and created fun memories with them.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
I have many favorite teachers, which are those who push me to be better in my studies and as a person.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
I was able to make the year-end state leaderboard for assist in basketball and was the state champion in Reined Cow Horse for Kansas High School Rodeo which earned me a spot at the National High School Rodeo finals in Gillette Wyoming.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
All my teammates have left great impressions with their support and talent.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

This year I get to play with the girls that I’ve played with since Y ball.  We have 7 seniors on the team who are all great leaders. The energy that all the girls bring to the team is my favorite, no matter what we try to have fun.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would go to Italy and take my friends and family.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would probably put the money towards my horses.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
The past 2 years at school we have had our seminar groups do service projects. This year I helped with blood drives.
