Salina Central’s Blake Priester – Presented by Farm Bureau Financial Services – Timothy VanDonge

Senior golfer Blake Priester from Salina Central is hitting the greens this spring season. Priester and his team have set a team goal this season to win as many tournaments as they can. In addition to winning tournaments, Priester wants to enjoy his team and just have fun with his teammates for his final year as a high school golfer.

Not only does Priester want to have fun with his team and win the tournaments, but Priester wants to be a major contributor to his team at the tournaments. Priester shared with Vype Magazine one of his individual goals for golf this spring. “My individual goal is to be one of the four scores for each tournament.”

Over the summer months, Priester spent almost every day working on his golf game. He either practiced with hitting a bucket of balls or hitting the course for a round of golf. With all the extra time spent on the course, this will hopefully help Priester and his team reach their goal of making the state tournament in May.

This year Salina Central will be the defending regional champs because last year Priester was part of the regional winning team and qualified for the state tournament in the process. An honor Priester and his team should be proud of.

During the winter season, Priester could have been found in the wrestling room because he was a part of the wrestling team for The Salina Central Mustangs. After graduation in just a few short weeks, Priester plans to enlist in The United States Army.
