“Our number one goal is for each athlete to apply our “Family, Character, Legacy” principles on and off the mat.”
Coach Lueders expressed to us that the wrestlers on his team live by a very specific code of conduct. Lueders says, “Our goals are to help push each other to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, which will, in return, translate into wins on the mat. In my first year as the Salina Central Head Wrestling Coach, my initial goal is to finish in the Top 10 at the 5A State Tournament. However, these goals may change/progress as the season goes on.”
As this is his first year with the team, the motto they have decided on is “#aNewEra” to show that the wrestlers and staff are focused on both the “present and future.”
Notable for the team’s new addition was the team’s “willingness to be open-minded about change, and the buy-in has been phenomenal. I have been impressed with our wrestler’s ability to take on elite-level character and wrestling expectations.”
The first-year Salina coach informed us that his “favorite part is building relationships with my wrestlers and the pride I take in being given the opportunity to help guide them as they go through this important part of their life. It is an honor to be given that opportunity and responsibility.”
