Ell-Salines Mason Ellerman – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Farm Bureau Financial Services

Ell-Saline made the jump from 11-man to 8-man football this past season. A change that Mason Ellerman was ready for and excited to see “what our team was made of.” Ellerman enjoys “games a lot, and hitting quarterbacks is fun, but I think practice is really fun hanging out hitting your friends.”

During his football career, Ellerman has found every moment to be “a great memory.” As he takes time this upcoming season to “get double-digit sacks and as every player would hope to not drop a pass,” Ellerman will also have the chance to spend time with his favorite teacher both on the field and in the classroom.

One of his favorites, that is. When VYPE inquired about who held that title, we were told, “My favorite teacher is probably a tie between Mr. Roche, our head football coach and history teacher, and Mr. Wendal, our head basketball coach and weights teacher.”

Not only has Ellerman gained a favorite teacher in the weight room, but he has also had a teammate impact his life there as well.

Saying, “I would say Ryder Dent has left a pretty big impression on me because we are good friends, and he is always in the weight room. “

Nevertheless, the greater Ell-Saline community also ranked among Ellerman’s favorite things. Telling us that “I really like practices because of how many hitting drills we do and how much our community backs us up. We have a great support system that really shows out for us. Our coaches are also really fun to be around and know a lot about the game.”
