Q&A with Salina South’s Olivia Beckman – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Eccentricity

VYPE caught up with Salina South’s Olivia Beckman to talk about her experiences on the track.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

The goals Beckman shared with us were to improve in the triple jump and to make it state.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun she’s had in the last year was at the second track meet of the season. Everyone was in the pit dancing and having fun.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Mr. Ebert – Social Studies. He is extremely friendly and understanding.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Her favorite athletic memory is going to Texas with her club soccer team 2 years ago. Everyone beat the heat and had fun.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

She likes being a senior and setting a good example for the underclassmen.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

Hawaii – she would take her 2 best friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

Clothes!

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

She wants to volunteer with an animal shelter as soon as she turns 18.
