Senior Jameer Moore of Salina Central is ready for the Friday night lights here in Kansas. One game on the top of his list fans should not miss is the matchup between Salina Central and Salina South. Moore told VYPE, “I’m definitely looking forward to South vs. Central.”
Moore is no stranger to time on the field, playing both defensive and offensive positions. While playing defense, Moore plays defensive back. “I want to make All-State for DB.” He, also, added he wants to be a top defensive back in the state of Kansas. While on offense, Moore plays in the wide receiver position.
During last year’s football season, Moore produced some pretty noticeable stats. Thirty-nine tackles, two interceptions, and to finish out the season, he was All-League Honorable Mention defensive back.
Despite the numbers and honors received last season, Moore is pushing harder to make himself better on the field. One element of his game Moore wanted to improve on this season was being more aggressive. Moore explained to VYPE, being aggressive on the field is what “a defensive back needs to succeed.”
After the season is over, Moore will have some big life decisions to make. Right now, Moore has received several offers to play at the collegiate level, but is currently undecided where to take that next step. “I’m hoping after the season, I will make a decision on where I will be playing.” Before Moore graduates from Salina Central, he will be participating in Track and Field in the spring for one more athletic season of his high school career.
