VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
I want to have a fun and successful last season with my teammates who I’ve been playing with the past years. I also want to leave a good impression on the underclassmen on the team so they have a good mentality for their years to come with the team.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
At tournaments when our team has a break in playing, and we all just hang out and have a fun time bonding with each other off the court.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher has been my sixth and seventh grade history teacher, Carl Hines. He always made the class really fun and interesting, and he was also the boys football and basketball coach at my middle school so it was nice talking to him about sports. Mr. Hines was always kind to everyone and really cared about his students.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory was when my basketball team went to the state tournament my sophomore year and got second. Not only was it fun playing in such an intense environment, but staying with the team for 4 days really brought us together and made the team feel like a family.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
My friend Callan Hall because we have been playing sports together since grade school. Callan is one of the most hardworking people I know, so her effort makes it easy for others to want to work hard. She is also one of the funniest people I know, so even when we are working hard in practice we have fun because she lightens the mood.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team is the relationship all of my teammates have with each other. During the season it feels like we are all best friends and have a great time playing the sport.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I’d pick a vacation to a beach somewhere with all of my friends and we would just hangout at the beach and have fun.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I’d go shopping and eat a lot of really good food.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I’ve been a part of relay for life all of high school, and this year I’ll be one of the leads for the event. I am a part of my school’s NHS chapter, and we do service projects in the fall and winter. I also help out at my church, and my basketball team does community service throughout the year.
