SE of Saline’s Brookelyn Adams – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Stardust Trophy

Competing in her senior year at Southeast of Saline, Brookelyn Adams has been sharing her goals for this year’s cross country season. “A couple goals I have in mind is to obtain a PR every meet, make varsity, and be a good teammate. This year the team is focusing on team bonding, having the time gap of our 1 st runner and our 7 th runner be under a minute.”

Southeast of Saline lost several seniors last year, but has gained three competitive freshmen. Adams said one of the things she is really looking forward to is getting to know the new members of the team. “We have planned certain dates to get together and make bracelets, watch movies, and carve pumpkins.” In addition to all this team bonding, the coaches plan a water balloon fight at the end of the
season.

During the offseason, Adams ran mostly by herself to prepare for the upcoming season. Due to time constraints, this was the only way she was able to continue running and working out. With all this practice of running, Adams hopes for another state title. “As far as for the actual meets, I look forward to pushing on as a team and being a contender for our fourth straight title.”

In addition to cross country, Adams wrestles, plays softball, and shoots trap. She is a part of FFA, FCCLA, STUCO, and SAFE. After graduation, Adams plans on attending Fort Hays State University to major in Sonography. “I plan to become a traveling sonographer. I live for experiences and traveling has always been something I’ve dreamed of.”
