Ell-Saline’s Carson Fouard spent time over the summer gearing up for this year’s cross country season. “This summer I increased my milage as well as incorporating some weight training.” After such a big season last year, Fouard wants to come out on top at the end of the season this year.
Last season at state, Fouard placed 5 th , an accolade he is proud of. Fouard also mentioned placing 4 th at state in the 3200 during track season. This was another running accomplishment he was proud of achieving. After all the hard work and extra training over the summer, Fouard would like to see a 1 st beside his name at the state meet this year.
Besides the state meet, Rim Rock is another course Fouard is looking forward to running. “Last year was my first time, so this year I feel like I can do even better with having that experience behind me.” In addition to this regular season meet, Fouard told VYPE, “I am also excited to participate in a larger local meet. This will give me a chance to run against some great athletes from my area that go to larger schools.”
In addition to cross country, Fouard is involved in 4-H Club, and is on the state 4-H youth leadership council. At school, Fouard is involved in FBLA. Not only is he a member of FBLA, he is also the Ell-Saline Chapter president. After graduation, Fouard would like to pursue a degree in either physical education or sports media, and he wants to continue his running career in college as well.
