Q&A with Salina Central’s Saniya Triplett – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Larissa Silva Agency

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals this year would be finishing with a GPA of 3.6 or higher.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I’ve had this past year is during the basketball and soccer seasons. The team bonding events, holiday activities, and memories we created.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher is Mrs. Shaffer. She was my physics teacher my junior year. She helped me build the confidence to work beyond the limits I set for myself. She taught me not to let things out of my control affect my life. As well as letting go of what will not benefit my future.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is going to state for track my sophomore year. The atmosphere was so outstanding, it’s something that truly belongs in a dream.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that has the biggest impression in my life is Elle Denning because of how hard she works to excel in any sport she participates in. She works incredibly hard to make her parents happy. Elle performs even when she is injured and in pain.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about being on this team is when I moved here, they became my first set of friends and I am forever grateful for that! While being in my teammates presence I feel so welcomed and can be my true self. We have created a bond amongst each other I will never forget all because of the great program and cultural practices we are a part of.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
For my summer vacation I would go to California. I have never been to a beach and I’ve always heard that Santa Monica Beach was very beautiful. I would bring one of my siblings, Nivea. She is my best friend that I share everything with.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I received $500 and had to spend it in 24 hours, I would use it for college: a new wardrobe and all the supplies/equipment I need.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I currently do not participate in community service projects.
